Enamel is cleaned with either Erythritrol Powder (similar to Xylitol) or very fine Sodium Bicarbonate Powder in a jet of air and water.
It is not abrasive to enamel. Air polishing is highly effective at removing tea, coffee, wine and tobacco stains. (If you have an internal stain in the tooth structure, it will not come off with air polishing).
We recommend that you have Air Polishing prior to dental bleaching.
