We believe that you cannot rush dental healthcare. This is why we offer 60 minutes intervals as standard, for all our appointments.
Most people have at least 28 teeth in their mouth. We clean each tooth up to 3 times with different equipment and look carefully at all the soft tissues of the mouth too. We will not compromise our standards to increase profits. We allow time to answer your questions because we are interested in you as a whole person and your whole health.
 
2. Equipment
We buy top of the range equipment and replace it when it is old. We do not have any hidden costs. Whatever you need for the best results, you receive.
 
3. Experience
Lucy has carried out over 150,000 treatments since 1992. That works out at over 3,000,000 individual teeth. Lucy is confident that she will not cause any unnecessary pain whilst treating you.
 
4. Prevention
There is not much point in providing a perfect clean, if we don't try to teach you how to remove plaque build-up on a daily basis. Technique is everything in oral home care. The phrase "It ain't what you do, it's the way that you do it" is very true for plaque removal. Our aim is to get your gums so healthy that annual visits are enough. NB (This may not be realistic if you already have established gum disease and does NOT mean that dental check-ups with a dentist are unnecessary).

How often should I visit a hygienist?

This depends upon the health of your gums and your cosmetic requirements: 
Every 12 weeks: People with deep periodontal pockets would be advised to visit at least every 3 months because pockets deeper than 5mm are impossible to clean without professional equipment.
Studies show that regular deep cleaning is essential to periodontal health. Each visit kills and removes the bacteria that are contributing to the damage and thus slows down the inflammatory process. 
6 Months: People who have mild gum problems or just get light stain and calculus build up, usually attend at an interval of 6 months. 
Special occasions: If you have a healthy mouth, but you get lots of tea, coffee, red wine or tobacco stains, then your visit would be classed as cosmetic only. Cosmetic cleaning can be provided whenever desired just like any other beauty treatment.
